Keeping with the Emirates legacy of “If you’re going to build it, build it bigger!”, an Emirati Sheikh from Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan has built a monster SUV by combining a truck and an SUV. The monster SUV was unveiled by the Sheikh on his Instagram page.

The monster SUV is a mix of vehicles. The body is built on the chassis of an Oshkosh M1075 military truck and the driver and passenger compartments are based on sections of a Jeep Wrangler. The front end is from a 1940s truck while the lighting system is from a Ford Super Duty pickup truck. The rear bumper is from a Dodge Dart.

The vehicle has 10 wheels, is 35ft long, 8ft wide, 10ft tall, and weighs a jaw-dropping 24 tons. It is powered by a massive 6 cylinder, 15.2 liter 600hp Caterpillar engine.

The Sheikh claims that ‘Dhabiyan Dessert Ship’, as he has named the monster SUV, is the largest SUV in the world.

Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan is a member of the ruling royal family of the United Arab Emirates. He is affectionately known as The Rainbow Sheikh after he had Mercedes-Benz build him an S-class car in every color of the rainbow, from the upholstery to the wheels.  He has one of the most extensive and most expensive car collections in the world. You can view his collection, including ‘Dhabiyan” virtually on his Instagram page.

To view the monster SUV in real life, you would have to visit the Emirates National Auto Museum.
